X-ner Luther
Project and Grants Manager
X-ner Luther recently joined the MCT team as a Project and Grants manager.
Prior to joining the MCT team, Luther worked for the Federated States of Micronesia National Government under the Department of Health and Social Affairs as the Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (CCCP) Coordinator starting in 2011. In 2014, he was assigned additional role to oversee the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Section.
Prior to working for the National government, Luther worked for the Pohnpei State Department of Health Services as the Coordinator for the Pohnpei Cancer Control program since the inception of the program in 2005. A five-year Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) plan was developed and implemented with assistance from the Pohnpei Cancer Coalition during his time there.
Luther graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelors in Public Administration and with a minor in Marine Affairs studies. He further enrolled at the University of San Diego on a Masters cohort program. After completing the first half of the 2-year program in Leadership Education, the program was put on hold due to scholarship/funding issues.
Luther is/was a member of various community and regional organization including the Cancer Council of the Pacific Island (CCPI) as the secretary/treasurer, Pacific Chronic Disease Council (PCDC), Micronesia Red Cross Society (At-Large member), and WHO Pacific ECHO. He was the chair of the FSM National Tobacco Advisory Council and a Board member of the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors as a elected representative of the Pacific.
