This Global Environment Facility (GEF) International Waters (IW) project “Strengthening and enabling the 2030 Micronesia Challenge” strengthens regional- and national-level marine resource management in the Micronesian Large Ocean States of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of Palau (Palau) with indirect benefits to the U.S. Territory of Guam and the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands . Learn More>

This funding supports the development and/or improvement of resilient protected area networks across Micronesia through an open call for proposals to local organizations and/or sites. The Micronesia Challenge Young Champions Program

The MC Champions program is an undergraduate internship program designed to build the next generation of conservation leaders in Micronesia while promoting the goals of the Micronesia Challenge and Protected Areas Networks (PANs) and expanding the participation of all MC jurisdictions. In 2009-2010 there were six champions in CNMI, Palau, RMI and Guam. Learn More>

 Entrepreneurs Restore Both Fisheries and Local Economies

The Fish 2.0 business competition held a workshop for entrepreneurs from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), the Marshall Islands, Palau, Guam and Saipan. The workshop was held in Pohnpei with the support of the Micronesia Conservation Trust, IdEA and the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Learn More>
