With the Intermediary Grant-making Program, MCT serves as an intermediary to other foundations and donors that share MCT's mission of conservation in Micronesia, but who need assistance in their grant-making. With its expertise and experience with conservation in Micronesia, and understanding of the local culture, politics, and landscape, MCT partners with these funders, assisting them through the re-granting of their funds to appropriate conservation organizations and projects in Micronesia.
The Micronesia Conservation Trust (MCT) offers the opportunity for any group, organization, government, or bilateral/multilateral agency to create a special type of account known as an Advised Fund within the MCT structure. These are special fund accounts managed and used exclusively for purposes specified by the donor as stated in the Advised Fund Agreement. You can donate funding to MCT for a specific biodiversity or environmental conservation purpose. The parties then develop and sign an Advised Fund Agreement, which may stipulate some or all of the following:
